"I am the Benefactor. That is what I am. I am the Benefactor to any who come before me." -Kavunsehh

Kavunsehh the Benefactor is one of the Shaitan that roams the galaxy, 'benefiting' any who come before them. They are the subject of endless raging debates on all aspects of their character, but primarily who they truly are and what their goals are.

History[]

First appearing to the Raan in Tochar 7999, offering their (now late) king the power to advance the Raan into an immensely powerful, galaxy-spanning empire; the Benefactor gave the King a small pad full of notes and battle plans, but before departing Kavunsehh said to the king "Kavunsehh says you should watch out for the living dead," which the Raan king took as metaphor and as a warning to ensure that any political opponents should be ensured of their total obliteration and atomic breakdown. During the time after the departure of Kavunsehh, the Raan Galactic Self-Governing Enclave grew a hundred systems in size and made many scientific achievements. Later, in Tochar 8020, the Raan King Kansent had impaled the resurrected L'nyun on his spear; and while the Raan was turned around and gloating, L'nyun pulled himself off of the spear, raised his axe, and cleaved Kansent in two, spilling his organs across the charred field that the kings dueled in for two days straight.

Ever since their first appearance, Kavunsehh has become a seemingly omnipresent figure in history; appearing to empires small and large, weak and strong, bearing gifts and granting wishes: each and every empire visited by the Benefactor always suffering some great calamity years after their first arrival. The few who dare to ask who the Benefactor is always get a comical response, always leaving the interrogator with more questions yet no answers.

The Tochar alone seem to be immune to Kavunsehh's wiles, as throughout the 40-something years of Kavunsehh's roaming, no Tochar has ever 'benefited' from anything Kavunsehh gives to them, as no Tochar has ever accepted one of Kavunsehh's deals. The Raan have begun including Kavunsehh in their religious pantheon as a demonic and malevolent god of wishes, deals, and disasters; whereas the Tochar see them as a neither malevolent or benevolent, but rather a living embodiment of 'you win some, you lose some.'

Characteristics[]

Appearance[]

Always shrouded by robes, Kavunsehh is a mysterious figure; no features are recognizable from under their robes, their face cloaked in darkness. The few times that Kavunsehh has held something in their hand has shown that their hands are small and smooth, suggesting an amphibian appearance under their robes; their footprints also suggest this as well. Unlike the other shrouded being, Sharugi, Kavunsehh's robes are completely pristine and perfect, never having appeared torn or even damaged; neither are they in any form more than just a simple robe.

Under the robe, no one has ever seen; however, it is most likely beyond what a mortal mind can understand and perceive without being driven to madness. The case of 'Robed Man and Prostitutes', from the Raan Justice Department; describes Kavunsehh paying and taking two Raan prostitutes, a man and a woman, to a bought room at a hotel. Kavunsehh left the hotel, however, the two prostitutes did not, and eventually their families filed missing persons. Later, upon tracking down the hotel the group went to, the police found the two prostitutes, fully clothed, huddled in a corner; both had experienced something so traumatizing that they required years of therapy to recover from it. Upon questioning about the events of that night, both told the same story, about being payed to come back to a hotel by a hooded person, but refused to describe what the hooded person looked like; this seemingly being the source of their mental trauma. Neither had been harmed in any other way, or even touched by anything, both had simply experienced something that left them with residual mental scars for the rest of their lives, which were cut short by suicide; apparently caused by their lasting trauma.

The few times that their robe has fluttered in such a way to reveal what their basic body structure looks like; Kavunsehh has been recorded to have a thin body, humanoid at the least. Their face remains unseen, yet from the case above, is apparently enough to drive Raan to suicide.

Abilties[]

Kavunsehh is rarely forced into combat, but the few times that they have been forced to attack have shown Kavunsehh to be an excessively powerful telekinetic, having thrown entire crowds around with no effort at all; once even piercing a Raan Royal Guard's armour with a single gesture, impaling the guard on their own armour and twisting their helm into a twisted, grinning skull; so tight on the guard's head that it took hours to remove.

Otherwise, Kavunsehh appears to be fully capable of either creating matter from nothing or manipulating atomic structure; having created objects from thin air in their palms. They primarily use their mastery over matter as a gesture of sorts, a way to work their way into their prey's goodwill before giving them one last final gift, the benefits of Kavunsehh.

Kavunsehh's benefits are true, they give you anything you desire, from wealth to mental health and clarity; but always the gift ends in destruction; the few times that the beneficiary got away scot free show that despite the destruction wrought by the entity, Kavunsehh sometimes can be purely beneficial.

The few times Kavunsehh has actually been physically attacked by someone have primarily ended in either instant and deadly retaliation or a short fight. Either way, Kavunsehh appears to be immune or highly resistant to all forms of non-essence weaponry; Kavunsehh has been stabbed with knives heated to over 400' C, shot with plasma rifles and laser machineguns, had snipers unload entire cartridges into their head; every single time they have either not even noticed it or simply ignored it, but the few times an essence user has attempted to kill Kavunsehh have always shown that Kavunsehh is not completely invulnerable, with Kavunsehh hissing in pain as they're struck by thrown blasts of energy. Kavunsehh, when exposed to extremely high amounts of any essence, appears to actually be in pain; and will instinctively recoil when attacked with it, possibly demonstrating a way of removing Kavunsehh from the galaxy, even if temporarily.

Personality[]

Kavunsehh puts up a front of being a stranger, a traveler from another world; wearing their cloak to clothe their body and hide their cybernetic implants and rebreathers; they are always, in a way, comic relief, always being friendly and joking towards everyone they meet, and putting up an illusion of respect to high-ranking individuals.

The few times Kavunsehh has been angered have always been short and concise affairs, the source of their annoyance being quickly dealt with; whether through brutally slaughtering them or, oddly, simply standing up to their full height. As Raan are extremely short compared to Kavunsehh, the few Raan that try to drunkenly fight Kavunsehh are usually terrified by the 7 meter tall walking cape that they are.
