Aver Kuestantine is a male Libertus native to Scorpiae, a planet counted amongst the Twelve Worlds of the Libertus. With a sharp analytical mind and a strong belief in the New Republic and the freedoms enshrined within it, Fleet Admiral Kuestantine is regarded as one of the greatest assets of Republic Command. A former fighter pilot, Kuestantine fought with the Cyrannian Federation's peace keeping operations during his younger years, ultimately fighting for the United Republic of Cyrannus as a ship commander during the Trucinex War, the Intergalactic War and the Great Cyrannus War.
Briefly serving with the Imperial Navy, Kuestantine would defect early in the Dark Times—serving with the nascent Cyrandia Resistance prior to joining the New Republic in 03 NE. Five years later, he would be promoted to the rank of Fleet Admiral within the Republic Fleet, commanding the mighty Republic-class Star Dreadnought Spirit of the Republic. A stern, though fair, commander, it is often said of Kuestantine that few would consider him a friend, though many would be willing to follow him into the Chaos Realm if necessary. In the fraught astropolitical climate of the Cyrannian Cold War, Kuestantine is always wary of events which may spark an armed conflict, though he puts these fears to the side in the course of his duties.
Biography
Early History
Born and raised on Scorpiae's capital of Celestes, Aver Kuestatine grew up in a largely happy family unit, with his birth mother working as a prominent attorney in Celestes, with his other mother working as her secretary. From his parents, he developed a deeply analytical mind and a passion for the law, though he also developed a passion for space travel, leading the young man to apply to Scorpiae's Fleet Academy when he came of age. After three years of flight training, Kuestantine joined a squadron on a Cyrannian Federation carrier ship during peace-keeping operations near Thanatyrannus space. A gifted pilot, Kuestantine would gain the respect of his crewmates when he shot down a Thanatyrannus pirate fighter in his first combat mission.
When the United Republic of Cyrannus was formed, Kuestantine worked for several years in the merchant fleet of Scorpiae, plying the hyperlanes between the Core Worlds. When the Trucinex War broke out, his request to join the Republic fleet was accepted due to the shortage of personnel after the attack on the Twelve Worlds. Steadily rising through the ranks, Kuestantine would be offered his own command during the closing stages of the Intergalactic War, during which he fought in the disastrous Fall of Scorpiae against the First Cognatus Empire. During the Great Cyrannus War, Kuestantine would continue serving with distinction, though with the formation of the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus, he was faced with a dilemma. Ultimately, Kuestantine abandoned the Empire during the closing month of 01 NE, later joining the ranks of the Cyrandia Resistance for two years prior to the establishment of the New Republic in 03 NE.
A rear admiral within the New Republic Navy, Kuestantine worked diligently to defend the borders of the nascent galactic power against threats such as the Cyrannian Imperial State and the Jenassian Regency—resulting his promotion to the rank of Fleet Admiral in 08 NE, gaining command of the Spirit of the Republic, a mighty Republic-class Star Dreadnought.

During the Loron Conflict, Admiral Aver Kuestantine gained renown for leading the first successful fleet operation against Da Rogue Boyz. Leading a vast armada from the Spirit of the Republic, Kuestantine ambushed the Loron fleet in the Bragolben System?—sparking a devastating battle which ultimately resulted in the destruction of the Loron fleet, stalling their advance into the core territories of the Republic. Though pleased with the result, Kuestantine knew that the war was not over and thus began preparing for the next bout.

In 09 NE, the Republic was attacked by the rampaging horde of the Neraida Gigamatrix, which sought to final destruction of all enemies to their nefarious plans for the galaxy. During what became known as the Neraida War, Kuestantine gained command over a large Republic fleet with the Spirit of the Republic as the flagship. Prior to the decisive Republic victory over Angrenos, Kuestantine defend the eastern borders of the Republic should any enemy, Neraida or Empire, seek to capitalise on the chaos of Republic space during the invasion. He would later amalgamate his fleet into a large Allied battlefleet over Angrenos and was witness to the great victory.

A typical male Libertus in terms of physical appearance, Kuestantine stands at just over three standard metres tall and possesses the greenish-brown colouration marking him as a Scorpiaen. A highly decorated officer, unlike many of his colleagues, Kuestantine prefers to leave his medals in his ready room on the Spirit of the Republic, instead wearing a standard uniform similar in many respects to other Fleet Admirals in the Navy. Kuestantine speaks in a deep, gravelly baritone with a distinctly High Celestian accent.
Personality and Traits
A career military officer, Kuestantine believes that there are few higher honours than the noble profession of military service. This commitment to the military often translates into an awkwardness around civilians, diplomatic officials and scientists—unavoidable individuals in a modern Republic dreadnought. Nevertheless, Kuestantine is a fierce advocate of the freedoms and liberties upon which the New Republic was founded, occasionally putting him at odds with elements of the Republic military establishment. Nevertheless, his faith in the Republic is unquestionably, as is his abject hatred of what he considers to be the tyrannical and illegitimate Empire. Though well-regarded by his crew, Kuestantine is an introvert with a solitary personal life. Indeed, while almost universally respected, few can say that they know him well. Still, Kuestantine is an efficient leader who listens to the recommendations of those under his command, knowing that a commander is only as good as the people he leads.
