Ankhnes Nar Monomai is a female Cogsangui warrior who serves as second in command of the Cognatus Order Dreadnought Harbinger of Truth under Fleetlord Thaur Vicliquam. A fiercely determined young woman with a dry wit, Ankhnes is confident of her skills as a duelist, though not to the point of bluster. Intensely loyal to the Primarch Voro Acetenus, her family, Clan Nar Monomai, is a vassal of the State of Acetenu, with Ankhnes father offering his daughter as a warrior in Voro's service when she came of age. Since that time, Ankhnes has worked her way up the ranks of the Cruentus Battlefleet to the point where she was appointed as the first officer of the Melkón-class Dreadnought Harbinger of Truth.
Biography
Early Life
Born in 15 BNE, Ankhnes Nar Monomai hailed from Clan Nar Monomai, a great family on Cognalorilos holding lands close to the City of the Ancients, the newly appointed capital city of Voro Acetenus' Unified Order of Cognalorilos. In ages past, her clan became a vassal to the powerful State of Acetenu, an arrangement which resulted in members of Clan Nar Monomai to appoint their best warriors to serve the best interests of Acetenu. Proving her worth as a bladesmith and a duelist, Ankhnes' father announced that she would join the Cruentus Battlefleet of the Cognatus Order under the direct watch of Primarch Acetenus.
During minor skirmishes with the Cognatus Empire during the Sundering of the Cognatus, Ankhnes proved her worth as one of the Order's most prized duelists, being singlehandedly responsible for killing an entire line of Vevilog who rebelled against the Cogsangui in the State of Xellunai on the newly recolonised world of Decatría. In 11 NE, Ankhnes was shocked to learn that the Primarch had personally released her from his family's service, instead appointing her to the Melkón-class Dreadnought Harbinger of Truth, a mighty vessel commanded by Thaur Vicliquam, the Fleetlord of Majestic Integrity. Though she at times clashed with Thaur over strategy, the two ultimately became fast friends, respectful of the other's insights and skills.
Ankhnes fights against Xarn.
During the War of Cleansing, Ankhnes and the crew of the Harbinger of Truth were dispatched to the distant Borealis Galaxy, to liberate the Eaglartin people from the yoke of the ruthless warlord Xarn Senakh'tenre. Armed with superior numbers and a resolve to fight in the name of the Primarch, the forces of the Cognatus Order, aided by the Polar Crystal Alliance and the New Republic, pushed the enemy Cognatus forces back to the Eaglartin homeworld. During the conflict, Ankhnes fought in personal conflict against Xarn, and managed to drive him off.
Second Great War
During the Second Great Cyrannus War, Ankhnes quickly distinguished herself as one of Primarch Acetenus' most trusted lieutenants, and fought by his side in numerous battles against the Galactic Empire of Cyrannus. During the rise of Mar-Júun, she fought alongside the Primarch and agents of the Aldárae Order on Vasuband, and later fought in defence of the New Republic Remnant during the Battle of Cognalorilos.
Personality and Traits
Fierce, determined and keen to prove herself, Ankhnes Nar Monomai is loyal to her Clan, the State of Acetenu and the Unified Order of Cognalorilos. Though her quick wit and good-humoured nature are often seen as atypical of her kind, Ankhnes does not allow perceptions about the Cogsangui paint her attitude toward others. Indeed, emblematic of most young Cogsangui, Ankhnes has a healthy respect for the allies of the Order of Cognalorilos, particularly those who excel in battle—with the young Cogsangui often wishing to one day fight alongside warriors such as Gavakar, Hachiman and Helo Roslia.
