I am new
What's on your mind?
Hey! Spore added sol system! But is not Spore galaxie. Is a Milky Way galaxie. Because Sol system is in the Milky Way galaxie.
I would like to introduce myself as the new Wiki Manager for this wiki. I am here on behalf of Fandom to support your wiki's community, help it grow and thrive and act as a liaison between you, and full-time staff. If you ever have an issue or question related to this wiki (editing, templates, wiki design, or any other matters related to Fandom), please feel free to contact me on my message wall, and I will assist in any way I can. I have also joined this wiki's Discord server, so I am accessible there too, for anyone who's ever looking for an instant communication method (just ping me)!
I am a big fan of Spore myself, having played extensively at various points since 2008. I was also a regular member of Maxis' old (now-shuttered) community forums between 2008 and 2012. Back then, I hosted a handful of community contests within the Spore fan community and spent many hours engaged in interesting discussions on those forums. I haven't played Spore regularly in quite some time, but I do occasionally re-install the game and have "Spore-playing binges" which last several days!

So, I was playing spore (today) and I encountered a race, it was a custom race I made based on humans. I play modless, so this glitch isn't caused by a mod, but I wanted to use the Monolith to raise them from Civ to Space, so I went to use it, but it had the features of if you try to use it on a planet that's not populated. (Greyed out, can't use, need species to be on planet message.) This glitch HAS happened once or twice before, and I want to raise the planet. Can I fix it?
New Spore Forum - Unofficial Forum
Hi guys! So in case, you didn't know The Official Spore forums were taken down https://forum.spore.com/jforum/posts/list/87491.page
So I went out of my way to create an alternative Unofficial Spore Forum. The Unofficial Spore Forums - The Sporum. Any and everyone is welcome as long as you play by the rules. The goal is to make a very friendly familiar forum to use, similar to the Official Spore forums but with lots of updates. http://spore.boards.net/thread/13/new-spore-forum http://spore.boards.net/

The perspective of this article is written from the point of view of a faction, media corporation or character in the Fiction Universe and may contain biases and inaccuracies. Read with an open mind!
One thing that is charming about the fiction universe is that there are always new ways to make content. One trend that is current, is the use of diplomatic bureaus, manifestos, media outlets (which is rousing interest recently) and assessments of other fiction's economic and political power. These are great editions to the universe, because they represent reality a great deal.
But, like in reality, these new modes of fiction also contain a lot of subjective points of view. Most articles for the universe are still written in an objective way [or from the user, who's opinion is always the right one ;)], and so this represents a new challenge for the wiki.
There have been concerns from a number of users, including myself that such fiction may create perception shifts of fictional empires and characters. Inevitably, the DCP is one example, it is seen differently by different users. I guess that the DCP probably feels more bad or imperialistic to newer users due to it's behaviour in GXS (and that it is more outwardly colonial than the Xonexi). The problem is this: how are new users supposed to know what is true and what isn't? How will that inform their decisions in the fiction universe?
This revelation actually came to me today after reading the French Colonial Empire/Mirusian Diplomatic Bureau. I'm not going to bash it, but when I first read it this morning, it made me think of how the ULE took on a policy of appeasement, which made sense. Reading it again this evening, I pondered: How true is this? From what I already know, the Dominatus and ULE gave each-other a wide birth. Fortunately, I know this information, but newer users may not. And given that Catface has been inactive a long time, there is no easy way to find out. Now lets step back into the fiction universe. The French have every reason to believe the ULE was appeasing the Dominatus and extragalactics.
At the end of the day, all of us here want to be able to build fictions without belittling others. It is a source of great anxiety for many I have spoken to. One step forward in my opinion, is add this template to pages with subjective content (and that may include foreign relations articles). I do not want to force everyone to use this template, but I would encourage using this template. It benefits your anxiety just as much as it could help newer users, or anyone in fact, to study the fiction universe a bit more and not read one source and pass it off as fact.
Finally, I just want to say that this template is open for editing. Please consider amongst yourselves how it should look. I also think it should have a picture to go with it, possibly diplomacy-related. Have fun making such designs and choose one amongst yourselves on this thread. But the template can be added straight away to pages as well.
Since the last time this was discussed on the wiki was about a year ago, I should probably turn on the kettle and reboot this idea.
I've been thinking recently on rebooting the Civ Universe, because right now the idea of having an intermediate section between a one-world setting like the Fantasyverse and the political sentiments of the Fictionverse seems like an attractive idea. Whilst we've been discussing geographical ideas and names for a planet, little I think has gone into the idea of the actual situation of the Civ Universe, which is why so far I have found it a bit of a flat idea.
If I were to put forward some ideas on settings and themes:
- I had the idea that the present day, whatever year you'd like to say it is, would be somewhere between 100 - 200 years after a World War II-like conflict that has left the world warming up with political relations after a massive blowout. This might give rise to the idea of some sour sentiments in politics and the economy.
- Drawing upon the modern day is a good enough starting point. Ideas like Third world political turmoil, terrorism, technological advancement, secret conflicts and corporate warfare, transapient augmentations and modification, artificial intelligence, paranormal and occult activity, proxy wars (as stated by Luc/Hachi) might rise a bit of a dystopian feeling...but then again, so is Earth in the 21st Century.
- As for time frame, most of us like the idea of it being set somewhere between the 21st Century - 23rd Century in terms of technological evolution and aesthetics.
As we're all gamers...mostly I think...settings drawn from Metal Gear, Deus Ex, Tom Clancy, Mass Effect, etc (thanks again to Hachi) seem good to me. The only things I'd like to change personally from the original idea is the geography of the planet...coming up with a different map or something like that.

This is a two-week warning to all users that any image which is not currently used on a page will be tagged by Debug Squid Bot and then deleted with it. All deletions will be done through my account, so they will be visible in the RecentChanges when the purge happens.
The reason for this is simply that an image that is not used on a page should be used on one, or it should not be hosted here. SporeWiki is not an image hosting site, and all images should be part of the site, be it the mainspace database to provide information about the games, or the content and fiction namespaces used by the community.
If an image you uploaded is in Special:UnusedFiles, and is not placed on a page within two weeks, it will be deleted. If your image was accidentally deleted after this, then one of the administrators will be happy to restore it. If you wish to avoid this deletion, the easiest way is to, well, put it on a page.
Hello! I have been eyeing this site's fiction for a few months now and i want to join in, i've created a creature and empire page but i am having trouble getting the images to work, and there are some things i'm still unsure about.
1. My images aren't loding - I uploaded images to put on my page but it some up with something like 250x500x, i'm new to wikia so you can call me stupid, i just want some help.
2. Creature Intelligenge/Biochemistry; Empire Class?: I don't know what these things mean, and i can't find a page that tells me, if someone can tell me or point me in the right direction, that would be appreciated.
3. Admin contact information? - I would like to know how to contact the adims, this is mainly so i can join the Cyrannus Galaxy. Final - Thanks for reading through my questionare, i am really excited to get my empire into this fiction, you can call me stupid and a noob because i am. Just be glad i know somewhat i'm doing. Thanks!

Last night there was talk with a couple of people about what we should do for the hardness of the science of the Civ universe. While my understanding is its a setting intended for fiction with a present-day or near-present feel, there's been a little opposition as to the science being too close to present-day levels. This is a community so I can accept if some people don't want ultra-diamond-hard setting (there are some asking if we could include industrial-age societies), but my personal concern is the civverse becoming a smaller-scale version of the fictionverse.
There are plenty of stories out there like Die Hard, Tom Clancy's Jack Ryder universe, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, and many television sitcoms and dramas that are great without reliance on the stuff of the 28th century. So I ask what kind of technology level people would prefer (It was agreed before to consider a few near-future technologies) and how much technological focus there would be.
Also there is a little talk of whether or not to include humans in the setting, but I don't have that much opinion other than the question of how they got there so I'll leave that to others to discuss.
